Open House Brno discovers… this time Boskovice

We’re delighted by your interest in Brno’s architecture. From time to time, you ask whether Open House might go beyond the city. And this year, it finally will!

On Saturday 30 May, the Open House Brno festival will head outside the Moravian capital for the very first time. We are launching a new series, Open House Brno discovers…, and for our first “pop-up” edition we’ll be visiting the town of Boskovice.

Thank you usually comes at the end of an invitation, but we’d like to break with tradition and express our gratitude right away. Our thanks go to architect Petr Ondráček, the Museum of the Boskovice Region, the Town of Boskovice, the Boskovice Cultural Centre, and the South Moravian Region. Together, we’ve been able to bring fresh ideas and new energy into the festival programme.

So once again: on Saturday 30 May, we’ll be discovering Boskovice with Open House! The programme will run from 10:00 to 18:00. Entry will be by reservation. Please follow boskovice.openhousebrno.cz, where we’ll gradually publish the full list of participating buildings.

What can you look forward to in Boskovice?
Just as in Brno, we invite you to explore places that are usually closed to the public and to experience architecture in new and inspiring ways.

For one day only, selected buildings—normally hidden from view—will open their doors, accompanied by a small supporting programme.

You can look forward to, for example:

  • the Evangelical Church

  • the Jewish Community House

  • the Catholic House

  • the Count’s Residence

  • the LANIK company complex

  • the Secondary School and College of Economics and Healthcare

  • the School of Arts with its observatory

Boskovice is just the beginning…
This is not a one-off event. Boskovice marks the start of a new format—a kind of pop-up festival. Each year, Open House will visit a different town and, for one day, bring its unique experience with it: discovering architecture, sharing the stories of places, and bringing people together.

In other words, a festival that usually opens up Brno will gradually begin to open up other places across South Moravia as well.

We look forward to seeing you there!
